With Love that Moves the Sun, Anouk De Clercq leads us into a vast forest landscape shaped by personal experiences in nature and forests at night. It is a haunted but wondrous place: stars drift slowly, meteor showers blaze across the sky, fireflies dance, and animals gather to sing up the sun.

In this 20 minute animation we see a continuous shot of a landscape and a forest as the camera moves up and down, together with the omnipresent sun. Meteors, insects and animals appear throughout the film.

Everything was created from scratch and animated. The different animals were modelled and designed from scratch since every element has to feel like it is a consistent part of the same world. I also wanted to be very precise in the design of the animals and have complete control over how the look and move. Especially since they appear mostly in silhouette.

From designing a 3D forest, animating a bird swarm, modeling and rigging different characters to an endless colored fire and typography animation. This project contained many things I love doing.
