For visual artist Orla Barry I worked on finding a personal approach to the typography of this text based piece. The text was written out as individual words on a tablet with screen recording. These recordings were then augmented, stepped up or slowed down to create an unpredicable, jarring style. Since no actual fonts were used, each letter appears completely unique.
For the background animations, I created several loops of fire and smoke that are repeated throughout the piece.
The work is presented on a large, vertical screen with text and music by the Artist. It was shown during the 2023 EVA International.
